Untamed Horizons was never meant to be a software company. It started as the system we built to run our own camp and safari company, and grew because other hoteliers asked to use it.
How it began
- Built for our own businessesOur founder needed one system to run a luxury camp in the Masai Mara and a safari company across Kenya, Tanzania and India, from the first enquiry to the final accounts. Nothing on the market did it, so we built it for our own use.
- Hotelier friends asked to try itTwo hotelier friends in Rajasthan, Hotel Ranthambhore Regency and Vanaashrya Resort & Spa Sariska, saw it at work and asked to try it on their own properties. They loved it.
- Real-life use, customisedRunning it on their businesses showed us real needs beyond our own. They asked for changes to fit the way they work, and we built them.
- Offered to small and medium hospitality businessesThat is when we decided to offer it as a solution to independent hotels, lodges, camps and tour operators: the system we use ourselves, customised to each business.

Vijay Pratap Singh
Vijay runs Untamed Horizons day to day. He is your contact from the first demo onwards, and coordinates the technology team on your setup, development and customisation, so you deal with one person who knows your business.
He brings more than nine years in digital marketing and lead generation, including two years leading digital marketing at Wild Voyager, so he knows first-hand how hospitality businesses win enquiries and turn them into bookings. He holds an MBA in Marketing.

Alankar Chandra
An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, Alankar spent the first part of his career in finance, consulting and technology, most recently as a Director at Brillio, a global software and IT services company. In 2016 he left the corporate world to build a life around wildlife photography and responsible travel, and founded Wild Voyager, a safari company that now runs its own guides and vehicles in Kenya, Tanzania and India.
In 2019 he opened Olgatuni, a camp in the Masai Mara. In 2024 he took it down and rebuilt it from the ground up as Ilora Retreats, a 14-suite luxury tented camp inside the Masai Mara National Reserve and a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. A second camp, Ilora Serengeti at Seronera, is planned for 2027.
Running these businesses, he found no software that could handle their customised needs, or manage the entire chain from sales to bookings, operations, post-travel and accounts in one place. So he drew up the blueprint for the system himself, around the real problems he faced every day, and orchestrated its build. Today he backs Untamed Horizons as its founding investor; the company is run by Vijay and its own technology and sales team, and Alankar is not involved in its day-to-day running.
His wildlife photography has won a National Geographic Your Shot competition, been featured as a Mastercraftsman by Smart Photography, and been shortlisted for the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year. He has been profiled by the Economic Times and NDTV.
